Training Goal

The goal of this training course is to provide the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the practices and procedures of emergency Incident Crisis management and with particular attention being focused on three core element of the crisis management process and combines these with practical experience of control the media during a crisis

The course further serves to provide participants with an opportunity to transfer the theoretical knowledge attained into a practical application of the crisis management process at simulated incidents and also to revise and validate their own “Standard Operating procedures” 
 
 
Learning Outcome
  • Upon completion of this course participants should be
  • Understand and implement the key elements of Crisis Management
  • Implement and control communications between the Incident Management Team & the Media
  • Provide a more effectively to changing circumstances at an incident
  • Provide a more effective communication process to their own workforce
  • Provide a more effective communication process to their own management team
 
Who should attend?
The course has been developed  for organisations that have adopted or intend to adopt a formal Incident Management System specific attendees from the organisation should be; 
  • §Persons who may be required to perform a management role at an incident
  • §Persons who may need to assist the Incident Management Team in Media Communications
  • §Persons who may be required to know the principles of the Crisis Management System
  • §Persons who may have direct or indirect contact with the media during an emergency incident

Training Process - "Practice makes perfect"

It is widely recognised that the transformation of "Knowledge" into "Skill" comes about by "Practice".  The DMT course syllabus is therefore split equally into teaching the theoretical uhnderstanding of the Crisis Management process and the "Coaching" of the practical application of that knowledge to the students own local environment

Mr. Barker is a Managing Director to DMT Asia Co.,Ltd.  Before  developing  DMT, his career development highlights include being a senior advisory consultant to the UK British Standards Association during the development of the New Safety Signs & Signals Regulation and Low Location Emergency Evacuation Systems, Providing specialist advisory services to the Nation Resources council of Canada regarding Office Occupant Evacuation and Human Behavior in Fire studies. He also published numerous manuals, Interactive System regarding Risk Assessment and business continuity. His latest publication, Thailand Incident Management System (TIMS) has been widely adopted as the Emergency Response Plan for many organisation operating in Thailand as well companies operating offshore and further a field.
